Let’s pray. That’s what some supporters of Mike Huckabee did before the wife of the Republican presidential addressed a gathering in Chillicothe (Ohio) on Wednesday February 27. The prayer led by Janet Folger, the faith and family values co-chairman of Huckabee’s campaign, sounded like this: “If it’s a blizzard that would keep the people home who would not vote the right way, Father, I pray for a blizzard,” Janet Folger said according to the Central Ohio website. “Out of this prayer meeting in this little town in this great state we pray that you would move mountains.”
Janet Folger also said that Mike Huckabee, the last man trying to prevent John McCain from clinching the Republican nomination, would appoint “godly judges”: “He is a man who will be appointing godly judges to the Supreme Court and protecting life,” she said. “He’s the only candidate that will value human life, promises to build a fence to secure the border, and the only one that has experience in the executive branch.”
What is a “godly judge”? Some people seem to have forgotten that there is a separation of Church and State in the U.S. Would that mean that a judge would have to prove his faith in God before being allowed to rule on criminal cases for instance? This is a surprising concept to say the least.
Prions.
